Do you have an elevator or escalator and where are they located?

Our elevator is centrally located in the Grand Court area.
There are also elevators in Sears, Macy's Men's and Home, Macy's Women's, and JCPenney.


Escalators are located at the Sears end of the mall, at the JCPenney end, and inside both Macy's Women's and Macy's Men's.

There are also stairs in the mall in front of Macy's Men's, in the center of the mall near Grand Court, and in the mall in front of JCPenney.

Is there a cost incurred to use your strollers/wheelchairs?

There is a $20 refundable deposit* required to use the strollers and a $20 refundable deposit* to use the wheelchairs.

Deposit must be cash or check only.  A valid form of identification is also required.

Where is the Lost and Found?

Lost and Found is located in the Public Safety Office, or Mall Security Office, on the lower level in the hallway just before the entrance to Macy's Men's and Home. Follow the hallway to the top, on the left.

Does the mall sell gift cards?

Sunvalley American Express® Gift Cards are available in denominations from $20 to $500. The purchase fee is $3.95 per card. Sunvalley Gift Cards are valid at all fine restaurants, stores, or services who accept American Express, and at any Taubman mall across the country. We accept cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Sunvalley Gift Cards are available at our Customer Service Desk on the lower level in Grand Court. Corporate gift card orders can be placed in the Mall Management Office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Corporate checks will be accepted with proper identification. For more information on corporate orders, please call the Management Office at (925) 825-0400 x2227.

The American Express Gift Card may be used at U.S. merchants that accept American Express® Cards. No ATM cash withdrawal. Some limitations apply, including restriction on use of the Gift Card at cruise lines or for recurring billing. See Cardholder Agreement for complete details. Card cannot be redeemed for cash, except where required by law. The American Express Gift Card is issued by American Express Prepaid Card Management Corporation.

Can I get there by BART or Bus?

BART
Take BART to the Concord BART station. From Concord BART, take bus number 20 to Sunvalley.  (Bus 20 is weekday service only.)

Local Bus Routes to the Mall
Main bus routes that service the center on weekdays include:

  • 9-DVC, JFK University, Pleasant Hill BART, Walnut Creek BART
  • 18-Pleasant Hill BART, DVC, Pacheco, Amtrak
  • 20-Concord BART, Willow Pass Road, DVC
  • 98X-Amtrak, Martinez, Concord, Walnut Creek BART

Main bus routes that service the center on weekends include:

  • 314-DVC, Monument Boulevard, Concord BART, Clayton Road/Kirker Pass
  • 316-Alhambra/Walnut, Amtrak, DVC, Pleasant Hill BART


Bus stops are located on Contra Costa Boulevard on the west side of the shopping center near Macy's Women's/Children's.


The Benicia Transit Bus stop is located in front of Firestone on Contra Costa Boulevard.

The Security Dispatcher manages the incoming flow of calls for maintenance, security, and property management.

 

  • Strong computer skills are mandatory due to digital record keeping.
  • The Dispatcher serves as the central hub of radio traffic and strong communication skills are vital.
  • CCTV experience beneficial, as is fire/life safety systems experience and control room experience.

 

Security Officers must be willing to be trained in the use of handcuffs, O.C. Spray, and Citizens Arrest. The ideal candidate for the Security Officer is customer service oriented and enjoys interacting with the public.  Prior Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is preferred, but applicants considering a career in Law Enforcement or with a Customer Service background are encouraged to apply.   • Patrol the interior and exterior areas of center on foot and in vehicle
  • Execute security services as outlined in site-specific Post orders and directed by Security Management
  • Engage with the general public to offer assistance and directions

  • Write detailed narrative reports using company reporting software
  • Actively enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants for these positions will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
  • As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty.
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites.
  • Essential Physical and Mental Functions
  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)

Customer Service Manager Posted Jul 14th

Sunvalley Shopping Center is currently seeking a full time Customer Service Manager to oversee the shopping center’s Customer Service Department. The primary goal of the position is to ensure that all guests receive a high level of quality service that is expected from a top tier shopping center. The Customer Service Manager will direct the day-to-day activities and development of five to six customer service personnel. The ideal applicant will possess a thorough knowledge of Concord and the surrounding areas, as well as upcoming events and will be able to handle all guest inquiries. Applicants must have three to five years of management experience.

 

Responsibilities:


Communication

  • Communicate effectively with mall management, tenants, and guests
  • Establish a strong rapport with retailers and distribute information as necessary
  • Act as a liaison between guests and mall management
  • Attend all mall management team meetings
  • Maintain awareness of issues pertinent to center and report as necessary


Team Leadership

  • Interview and hire staff
  • Provide new employee training, as well as continued employee team training and evaluation
  • Prepare staff meetings and provide minutes to supervisor and mall management staff
  • Establish shifts and create a weekly work schedule for staff, making accommodations when necessary
  • Resolve issues as needed
  • Evaluate employees to improve performance
  • Set team and individual performance goals
  • Set goals for Customer Service Representatives and monitor and report results

  • Inspection of strollers and wheelchairs for safe and proper operation


Marketing

  • Support mall marketing initiatives 
  • Manage customer service staff participation in promotional activities
  • Manage day to day operations of shopping center gift card program, including corporate orders as necessary

 

The Customer Service Manager must be available for a variety of shifts, including a mix of days, nights, and weekends. This position offers a salary of $20/hour, as well as a benefits package including paid time off, and major medical insurance.
